General Principles:
- Any content that is part of a business relationship will be clearly labeled. We do not usually accept ads or paid editorial content. There is a little more explanation about ads, below.
- Any affiliate links will be clearly labeled. Becky participates in the following affiliate programs:
- We do review books, computers, and other small business related products. Almost all of them are provided at no cost to us for review, and we are usually allowed to keep them.
over the past 12 months
- Network Solutions sponsors our business ideas booklets.
- Rebekah Workman provided the profile photo of Becky and the no-bs photo above. (I love these photos, and I rave about Rebekah's work every chance I get.)
- Becky provides consulting and speaking services to a wide variety of clients. When a client is mentioned in any story, they are labeled as a client. Becky's other businesses are Tourism Currents (a joint operation with Sheila Scarborough), Allen's Retail Liquors, and a cattle ranch.
Guest Posting:
- No: We do not accept guest posts or guest post requests on any topic.
- Yes: We do appreciate submissions of real small town business stories from readers and community members. If you know of a small town business or rural entrepreneur with a great story, please tell us about it. You can even tell about your own business, as long as it's in a small town or rural area.
Advertising:
- No: We do not accept any traditional advertising. No display ads; no text link ads; no pay-per-post. We do not accept link exchange requests.
- Yes: We do work with selected companies to sponsor our publications, projects and events. Most sponsorships start at $1,000.
Press Release and PR Preferences:
- No: We will not read or consider press releases.
- Maybe: We are interested in small business stories from small towns and rural areas only, and even then, we'd prefer you tell the story than send a press release.
"Share with Your Readers" Requests:
- No: We will not consider link requests like this: "I just posted an article on my site that I thought you would want to share with your readers."
