The non-traditional Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one Jan 18-20, 2013. What good news will you add to the brag basket?

Have a nice and juicy weekend
You don’t have to be the “traditional” type,
to be in the Brag Basket.

Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.

What can you do in the Brag Basket?

  • introduce yourself
  • share some great news from this week
  • congratulate a friend
  • laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
  • applaud for each other

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.

This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) If you talk more about the people involved than the things, you’ll be fine.

It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

    I want to brag! Memememememe!

I’m very proud of my podcast, the Human Business Way. This week, we had Guy Kawasaki, Seth Godin, and Daniel Pink, all on the same show. Next week, I have three different sets of guests talking about health and fitness, as there’s barely a small business owner out there who takes the time to take care of their own bodies.

So yes! It’s a great day for it. : )

Chris, I love an enthusiastic brag! Congratulations on all the terrific guests. I have them loaded up to listen to on my trip next week.

Sure, I’ll do a bit of bragging.
After a long hiatus, I recorded my first new podcast in almost a year and half for Startupdaddy.com I’ve wanted to get back to podcasting, but wrestling between starting a new one and getting back to my old one. Because the conventional wisdom all said do a new one, I naturally went the other way :) I’m looking forward to getting it posted and seeing who’s still out there listening.

    Happy Friday!

Congratulations, Ian! It’s not easy to restart something after a lapse, so I applaud you.

I’m starting to think it’s podcast week around here!

Hi Becky – and thanks for inviting readers to post their good news.

I’m pretty new to your blog and this is my first brag basket note! Here goes: I’m very excited because a non-profit near and dear to my heart just signed on to have me do some project work for them – I’ll start next week! I was literally lightheaded when they said yes. :-)

And congrats to Chris and Ian on their podcast successes! Chris, I’m reading “The Impact Equation” via Nook and it’s excellent. Just what I needed at this point in my professional life. :-)

Here’s to a joyful weekend for everyone!

    Hi Becky!

I just saw this Brag Basket post and I love it!

This week I am excited because I jumped into the video world. I recorded a short HSI Coffee Break video and made it public!
I am proud of it because it is new for me and something I didn’t think I would do.

I am also lucky to have met (virtually) some amazing people who are encouraging me in my journey. I am very grateful for all who have shared and commented on my new video!
