Brag Basket crosses boundaries

By Small Biz Survival

The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one Jan 11-13, 2013. What good news will you add to the brag basket?

Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.

What can you do in the Brag Basket?

  • introduce yourself
  • share some great news from this week
  • congratulate a friend
  • laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
  • applaud for each other

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.

This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) If you talk more about the people involved than the things, you’ll be fine.

It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

Finally, some snow today! (It has been a dry winter.)

That’s terrific, Paul! We got 3/4″ of rain here, first rain in about 100 days!

Anyone here going to Social Media Tulsa? I’ve never been and frankly, can’t see spending hundreds of dollars on it right now, but I’d like to know why you think I should go. What do you guys get out of it?

Micah, I will be there again this year. The quality of speakers is good, and the information is quite solid. If you’re wanting to meet like-minded others from around NE Oklahoma, hear some quality talks on social, and enjoy yourself, then go. That’s my opinion.

Pretty proud of my little adopted home town of Dunlap, Iowa. They hosted their “shop hop” in mid December. It is a Friday evening where all of the businesses and service buildings downtown stay open into the evening, serving Christmas goodies and also offering first shot at some of their holiday sale items. There were carriage rides around town, and the town was full of people carrying shopping bags back to their cars. A big success, and a great idea.

Oooo, that is a great holiday idea! I’m going to copy this over to the Small Town take on Small Business Saturday!
