Even tiny good news counts for Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one Oct 26-28, 2012. Have some good news this week? Put it in the Brag Basket.

Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.

What can you do in the Brag Basket?

  • introduce yourself
  • share some great news from this week
  • congratulate a friend
  • laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
  • applaud for each other

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.

This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

Well done Deb :) I finally found a job after graduating last year and it’s using my degree rather than just a job for a job’s sake! Yay.

Been meeting with a local SCORE mentor on how I can use my skills in web design/development and online marketing to help my hometown of Sapulpa begin to shine again. He’s helping me with some connections and I’m really excited to see how I can begin to help my community retain some of it’s former glory.

It’s been awhile! I have two brags about my friends and collaboration partners Sherice Ajifu @sherice_ajifu and Dana Kagawa @dana_kagawa for launching their blogs that chronicle the journey of their personal passions.

In all of my speeches I talk about the requirement to have courage to participate in the socialsphere. They co-founded a company Moxie3 Innovations, LLC that promotes just that — courage.

Read more of their thoughts: http://danakagawa.wordpress.com/ and http://shericeajifu.wordpress.com/ and their company: http://www.moxie3innovations.com

Welcome back, Neenz! Always great to see you. Congratulations to Sherice and Dana! I love to see people use their courage.

I spent an hour on the phone today with an incredible lady called Susie Zeitner, owner of Z Glass Act. You can find her business on line. She is a fantastic entrepreneur who used her artistic talent to build a business of custom light fixtures and artistic creations for the home. Beyond being a cancer survivor and losing her husband unexpectedly, she has not just survived, she has thrived. Check out her beautiful work on http://www.zglassact.com

That sounds lovely, Michael. Thanks for sharing Susie’s story with us.

A couple of things this week. One of the blogs I run, http://androidroot.me , is closing in on 100 views a day! The other is for my business http://pentontechnologies.com which just landed another web design/social media management client. Things are looking good. Thank you for this. Have a Great Day.
