Celebrate Independence in the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

It’s Friday, and that means the Brag Basket is open for the weekend. On this Independence Day weekend in the USA, let’s celebrate our independence as entrepreneurs. Share your projects and accomplishments. You can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.

Plus, it’s Liz Strauss‘ birthday. So go leave her a comment, OK?

Think that bragging is a bad thing? Read how Tony explains the Brag Basket.

The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it’s true that I love small town brags!)

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! Make it personal, and not just an ad. You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

I picked up a new client – I’m doing an animoto video using pics from their facility – so people coming for rehab can see how cool their place is. I also got two new one page websites designed for two new clients. They are in the Polish community in Chicago and have promised referrals. Debworks is growing!

Woohoo, Deb! So many more people and organizations could benefit from your skills. Keep on growing!

    Congrats, Deb! :)

I revisited my planner last Wednesday to review my aims for this year, to count my blessings and check on my progress. For my career plans, I wrote down: 1) resign as a call center agent; 2.) start my career in event management and marketing; 3.) build contacts.

I’m proud to say I’m finally resigning soon. After 6 years! I’d be a Marketing Officer this August. I also had a successful event this summer and agreed to work on another one. I’m ecstatic that, so far, my 2009 is very fruitful. I feel so free and liberated to be finally chasing my dreams. It’s like I’ve stopped worrying about everything else.

Lornadahl, congratulations! I love your approach to reviewing and setting goals. Here’s to a great second half of 2009!

Thanks, Becky! I’m anticipating lots of lessons learned, new contacts and more travels for the second half of 2009. I’d be having training/s abroad for my new work. Wee!

Speaking of, let me add that I’m so thrilled my traveling dolls have my good friends from Singapore and Dublin as loving hosts. I’m such a proud momma.
