I am new here. I was laid off in June and in this Michigan economy have been unable to find employment. On the positive side, this has given me the opportunity to pursue ideas I've had floating around in my head for over 5 years. The first will be a short book on entrepreneurship and leadership based on my research and writing in graduate school. I hope to self-publish it in the next two weeks, and I hope people will find it helpful.

Next Friday, December 11, I'll be a panelist at our local Columbia College, as part of a lecture series entitled, Inside the Entrepreneur – Enlightening Lessons. I'll be joined by Stuart Hince, my webdancers partner and Sharon Crost, of Social Media Alive. The event is billed as Enlightening lessons from Social Networking experts, although Sharon is the real expert of the bunch, having directed interactive strategies for HP and Adobe, among others. Stuart and I will have some ideas to offer about how the current economy has affected life on the web and how businesses can take advantage of online tools at low or no cost.

It should be fun and we invite anyone in the Sonora, CA area to come and join us. As an added incentive, refreshments are provided by the college’s culinary department and they are exceptional!

I just finished the final edit for my book, Get Seen: Online Secrets to Building yoru Business. I took about a year to write and edit and includes lots of interviews, stories and step by step how to's about putting video on the web. It was a fun project.

It's available nationwide in January.

What a great start to the holiday shopping season here at Wild Heaven Farm (handmade goat milk soaps and skin care) in Chesterfield, Virginia. Due to a new event (Christmas Town at Busch Gardens), I took in as much in a weekend as I usually see all month. I only hope it's going as well for everyone.
