This is truly a great post.  I think that ...</title><content type='html'>Becky,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is truly a great post.  I think that many small towns would be benefited by following the items you discuss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't currently live in a small town but I grew up in one and my parents are still there.  Your point about people who are against everything is so true.  So many people are against any form of growth within the community even if that means that it will lose what it has.  In the town that I grew up in there are only three forms of biz that last: grocery stores, gas stations, and liquor stores.  Nothing else lasts because of the attitude of people.  The town is tourist destination for fishing/hunting but no one has any interest in providing any further amenities to attract more people even though other communities have been very successful around there in doing it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That said, I can also appreciate many people in small towns not wanting their town to grow.  They want to stay in a small town.  I am sure that there are quite a few stories from Austin, TX or Asheville, NC about unwanted growth.  It is definitely a balancing act.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Great post!
