Brag Basket Number 125

brag basketEach Friday, I open the Brag Basket. This is the 125th Brag Basket. Woohoo!

Obviously, it's designed as a fun place for you to share your projects and accomplishments. But you can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.

The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it's true that I love small town brags!)

Last week, we had three terrific folks:
Hooray! (A triathalon? Holy cow!)

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don't need special permission, and you don't have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There's no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I'll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

  1. Our son, @itsswanny, took a journalism class last spring which led to a summer sports internship at a local daily, which led to hs football freelance reporting, which led yesterday to chief freelance writer for sports and metro sections.

Becky - a brag for a company called JRag (www.jrag.com) in Birmingham, AL. They came through for us (TicketBiscuit) big time with a rush order of promotional T shirts for our event this weekend in California. Big props to Greg, Eric, and the whole crew.

  8. We successfully ran a online(ish) scavenger hunt to help promote some local businesses. Had tons of fun and help some small businesses with a little free marketing.

  10. Hi Becky!

Congrats on your "US News & World Report" blogging gig - that's awesome.

    I have two things:

    1) Big bragging rights to Christine Lu of the China Business Network, Elliott Ng of UpTake/CNReviews and Georg Godula of Web2Asia for doing a fantastic job of organizing the recent China 2.0 Tour. I just returned from the Shanghai leg and was blown away, thanks to their efforts!

    2) I'll be speaking at SXSWi in Austin March 13-17 on the topic of travel blogging, with fellow travelista Pam Mandel.

And a double helping, in honor of earning that SXSW panel! Congrats!

  12. Becky, I want to brag on my son. Coll has played Pee Wee football for 3 years now and this year he has the opportunity to play school organized Basketball. I had to really work hard to talk him into playing. He just wasn't interested, but I managed to get him to try, and he loves it. Because of the crazy schedule 5th grade has with Band, PE, and Ballroom dancing being during the same hour they've been alternating each week, so he's only had a few practices (4 @ the most). The team is a 5th and 6th grade team and he has been selected to suit up for EVERY game so far (2) and we got the email that he's suiting up for the tournament this Saturday and for the away game on Monday! I'm very proud that he's given it a shot and is enjoying it.

  13. Liz, congrats to Coll for really doing well, and congrats to you for encouraging him to grow! :) I must say I'm floored to hear that Cashion has Ballroom Dancing!!

  14. Chris Brogan, who has been our friend around here since Feb. 2006, tweeted that he'd love to be in the Brag Basket. The occasion? He got mentioned (rather prominently) in Inc. Magazine's The Entrepreneurial Generation column. http://is.gd/8vWp Neato. :)
